the funniest thing is that I am reading apple's IPAD sales are through the roof, and seeing in the next line suicides at foxconn (apple's main contract manufacturing.)

that is what really amazes me. It seems the press doesn't really address that these major US brands have their manufacturing at a plant where their workers are killin themselves daily.....and instead talking about huge sales of the brand's products.

probably some politics and connections holding it back a bit...

but just interestin

Socialism and Science :)
Ok no seriously, socially and globally responsible capitalism! in the short-medium term.

However eventually we'll have to enslave martians if we hope to attain the level of comforts most of us take for granted in 1st world countries...
Perhaps synthetic beings would be a better bet. Don't forget 2/3 of the people on this planet still depend on their own agriculture to eat and live. 3rd world lives, 3rd world comforts. Nature bitch!

Robots doing the menial labor in this world could possibly do the trick.

yes, i wonder how the world will change......there will always have to be factories of people - unless it is all made by machine.

I wonder......how can the world be a better place....more fair to people who are born in certain situations, and positions in life.

we are so fortunate to have education and not have to do basic factory work...

This month,we visited a shoes factory in Dongguan during one weekend, after seeing the factory, seeing those people,i can't sleep at the night,I feel pity for them. They work from the morning about 8am till night about 9pm.some young girls ,who are supposed to be in school,or dating,,,but they are working there. If they are my sisters,i will tell them: save money,go to learn something, change your life and leave for a better place.
